During the summer of 2025, Fermor Lodge No 1313 and Fermor Chapter No 1313 ran two barbeques, offering the brethren and companions a chance to socialise during the summer break as well, of course, to raise some money for charity.

The dual summer barbeques are fast becoming the main event of the summer and were once more run by hard working stalwarts Richard Jenkinson and Alister Sainter. The first event of the summer was hosted by Richard Jenkinson, following on with the stunning success of the one he ran the previous year. Richard has a home which is perfectly built for these events and, as always, the perfect host was happy to prove his skill at the barbeque grill as well.
It was therefore no surprise his event was, yet again, extremely well attended by local Masons and their families. The weather was perfect, and an extremely merry time was had in the summer sun as all enjoyed food, drink, and fun in the aid of charity. Family of course means dogs as well, and several attended to join in the merriment.
The second event was held at the long-term home of Southport Regalia. Alister Sainter has been overseeing significant refurbishment and was proud to build on his hard work in the aid of charity, by giving himself even more work.
Another large group of families once again descended on the gardens, with Alister applying his usual industry to make sure no one was short of food. Yet again the sunshine was perfect for the event, with abundant food, drink and good company keeping the mood extremely high throughout the afternoon.

The events over both dates raised an impressively grand total of £1,370 for charity. No doubt Richard and Alister will be organising similar events next summer, and with the brethren, companions and their families having such an amazing time, they may be under considerable pressure to do so.
