It might have been the first Chorley and Leyland Group Broken Column event for a few years, but the day was a great success and a big thank you goes to the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity (WLFC) who funded the whole event.
The group executive team would like to give a special thank you to Harry and Mary Noblet, from the Fellowship, and also to Susanna Matthews and Linda Goth from Ridgmont Ladies. Their generous support and assistance before and during the event helped to ensure that the widows had a wonderful time.
The ladies were greeted and welcomed by Group Chairman of Chorley and Leyland Peter Allen and his wife Lesley. Entertainment was provided by Rob Mason, who gave a great repertoire of Lancashire songs and anecdotes from days gone by.
Afternoon tea was served and well received with everyone feeling happy and relaxed together. The evening was completed, and all our widows left jubilant after being presented with a Christmas hamper each.
The highlight of the evening was the overwhelming request for a repeat next year. The Chorley and Leyland Group team along with all those who supported the event would like to welcome all our widows to join them next year for another great day together.
