Lifelites are supporting three children’s hospices in our Province; Zoe’s Place, Claire House and Brian House. WLFC received a detailed application from Lifelites and decided to fund the assistive technology for each service installation at a cost of £25,000 per partner.
This gave a donation totalling £75,000 spread over 4 years. The planned refresh dates for each hospice are; Zoe’s Place 2024/25, Claire House 2025/26 and Brian House 2027/28. This would see each children’s service in our Province receive a new technology and support package valued at around £60,000 over the next four years, which includes the assistive and sensory equipment.
Lifelites began their new technology installation and training session during a fantastic visit to Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, Liverpool by two directors of WLFC, Derek Parkinson and Colin Roeling, along with Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Malcolm Alexander. They were joined by children and their families who tried out all the new tech including the Magic Carpet, Soundbeam and PODS sensory tents.
It also gave everyone the opportunity to recognise the incredible contribution of the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity who funded all of the technology provided to the hospice. Derek Parkinson commented: “Massive thanks go to Gemma and the team who made us feel so welcome and to all the families who celebrated with us.”
The technology WLFC are funding will help tear down the communication and connectivity barriers that complex conditions create for children, enabling inclusion and independence that brings families in our Province together in fun and meaningful ways, far removed from the clinical and medical interventions they face each day.
