During 2025, the Warrington Masonic Group has been out in force once again, supporting the local community, ensuring that the spirit of Christmas is felt by those who need it most. The group has donated much-needed funds to Warrington Foodbank.

The funds donated are helping to provide essential supplies and festive treats for families in need. With the rising cost of living, this support could not have come at a better time, ensuring that no one goes hungry during the holidays. The Warrington Group Chairman, John Tyrer, presented a cheque for £2,750 from the Warrington Freemasons to the Warrington Foodbank. Nicola Henshaw from the charity said: ‘This is a very generous donation that will help and assist the most vulnerable in our society.”
Brethren from the Province of West Lancashire and the Province of Cheshire joined forces to support the local community in helping to marshal the annual Frodsham Christmas Markets. Craig Hands, who is a member of lodges in both Provinces, reached out for support and thought it would be a fantastic opportunity for both Provinces to be involved

Giving support to this endeavour were; Rob Bingham, Chris Todd and Craig Hands from Warrington Lodge of Concord No 1250, along with Neil Thomas from Travellers Lodge No 4679, who are all members of West Lancashire, along with Rob Nash, Craig Hands and Glyn Roberts from Beacon Lodge No 5357, and Leon Berriel from Froda Lodge No 4942 in Frodsham, who are Cheshire Masons
For the 10th year running, Chris Todd is back at Warrington Hospital, supporting the neonatal unit by providing teddy bears for the newly born Christmas babies. These cuddly companions bring comfort and smiles to the smallest and most vulnerable patients and their families, making their time in the hospital this Christmas a little brighter.
The Chairman of the Warrington Group, John Tyrer, gave new items of bedding, pillows and towels to Jo Wilkinson, the Manager of St Joseph’s Family Centre, Warrington. These items had been donated by a supporter of the Freemasons who wishes them to go to a worthy cause.

St Joseph’s Family Centre, originally established in 1917, offers emergency support of food, clothing and bedding to local families in times of crisis. It is an enhanced accredited Child Contact Centre and also offers counselling to children and adults. Warrington Masonic Hall has also offered its charity room for the production of Christmas food parcels to be distributed over the festive period.
The Warrington Masonic Group held its Annual Carol Service at St Thomas’ Church in Stockton Heath, bringing together brethren, families and friends for a wonderful night of readings and carols. It was heartening to see such a strong turnout, and the presence of so many familiar faces made the occasion truly special.
Reverend Michael Ridley led the service, which featured a series of readings delivered by members of the Warrington Group and their partners. These were interwoven with much-loved traditional Christmas carols, beautifully accompanied by the Cadishead Public Band.
A collection in support of St Thomas’ Church followed, after which the congregation joined together in prayers and received ‘The Blessing’ before the service came to a close. The Warrington Masonic Group we extend their warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas and good health and happiness throughout 2026.
