Bryn Masonic Hall was host to a unique duo of specialist interest meetings. Lilford Lodge of Motorcyclists No 3022 regular lodge meeting followed by the Bikers’ Chapter No 1380 regular convocation at which they performed a double exaltation.

Both lodge and chapter were delighted to welcome Provincial Grand Master and Most Excellent Grand Superintendent Mark Matthews with Deputy Grand Superintendent David Barr alongside a host of grand officers and acting Provincial grand officers.
The day got off to an excellent start with all present gathered in the temple for the first meeting of the day courtesy of Lilford Lodge. This was a regular business meeting punctuated by three excellent lectures from WM Gary Bryon and his wardens.
Following on from this was a hearty breakfast provided by Christine and her staff with a lively raffle which raised a substantial amount for charity. Feeling fully refreshed and raring to go, the hordes gathered again in the temple for the exaltation ceremonies of George Graham and John Lindsay – both master Masons from Lodge of Loyalty No 897, also a bikers’ lodge in St Helens.
The exaltation ceremony proceeded very smoothly with all present enjoying the spectacle, especially the candidates. Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals John Selley presented companion Darren Simcock with his Grand Chapter Certificate, which was made even more special with a personal greeting from Mark Matthews.

As an honorary member and patron of the North West Chapter of the Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association, Mark Matthews looked very at home in his ‘cut’ adorned with his road name of ‘Big Dog’.
