At the January meeting of Tudor Lodge No 6477, the brethren initiate a new brother into its fraternal family. It was a cold winter’s evening and the brethren assembled at Southport Masonic Hall to witness Neil Kilroy be admitted into the ancient and honourable institution of Freemasonry.

With the lodge brethren duly assembled, the WM, Len Adams, opened the lodge in the usual manner, ably assisted by his wardens Mike Caffrey and Chris Rogers. The lodge ceremony was beautifully handled by the very experienced director of ceremonies Richard Alty, who ensured the proceedings were conducted smoothly and in good order throughout the evening.
On this occasion, the candidate Neil Kilroy, was expertly conducted around the lodge by the experienced and diligent senior deacon Fred Davis, who carried out his duties with precision and care. As the ceremony progressed Neil Kilroy became the lodge’s newest brother, the assembled brethren were then treated to a word-perfect and powerful rendition of the Ancient Charge, delivered by the senior warden Mike Caffrey. This was followed by a clear and comprehensive explanation of the working tools, presented by the junior warden Andy Squires.
The brethren of Tudor Lodge were also delighted to welcome many visitors to the ceremony, a testament to the high regard in which both the lodge and its brethren are held within the Southport Group. Once the lodge was closed in harmony, the brethren continued the evening in good company at the festive board. The brethren of Tudor Lodge warmly welcomed Neil Kilroy and are sure he will enjoy many happy and fulfilling years in Freemasonry, particularly within the ever-welcoming Southport Group.
