Tyldesley Lodge No 2572 in the Chorley and Leyland Group this month raised Martin Aldred a young member of the lodge to the rank of a master Mason.

Martin was completely ready for the questions as he rhymed them off with ease, he had clearly been attending practises.
Martin was raised by the WM David Peacock who performed the ceremony with ease and class. Something a seasoned brother would be happy to witness.
Andrew McVee in the role of senior deacon conducted Martin round the lodge which gave Martin assurance that he was in the right hands. Derek Bond as the director of ceremonies showed some pride in how all the members had conducted themselves to be on top form for Martin.
Over the short course of the time that Martin has been a Freemason he has been engaging as much as he can and as much as he is allowed to, by getting involved with Freemasonry and making friends through visiting other lodges, something he is enjoying very much.
Downstairs at the festive board was a most enjoyable evening. As there was a Masonic raffle which raised £185 for Masonic and non-Masonic charities. The meal consisted of four courses supplied by Brookfield Hall which was one of the best meals that the hall has ever done. Martin sat near his seconder and mentor, David Hargreaves and engaged in conversation with other junior brethren who are looking forward to their third degree.
The night ended with Martin replying to a toast to his health, again something he was well prepared for even after many glasses of wine with the rest of the brethren.
