The Ashton Trinity Chapter No 8821 is a member of the Wigan and Leigh Group and meet at Bryn Masonic Hall in Wigan. On this special occasion John Becker was delighted to be exalted into this wonderful Royal Arch Chapter as a companion of the order.

For the ceremony, he first Principal was Alfred Dickinson, second Principal Philip Barr and third Principal Christopher Williams, the DC was Andrew Dobie and the principal sojourner was George Head. The ceremony was exceptional on all accounts with all companions perfecting their acting rolls, the three principles did a very commendable job of sharing the work with George the Principal Sojourner, who greatly helped John through his exaltation. The signs were given and explained by Paul Brunskill, in what was considered very compelling to say the least. John was given a wonderful ceremony that will have impressed him for many years to come.
John was originally born in the north east, but he actually grew up in the early years in London, and then moving to Somerset to live with his parents where he completed his education to become an accountant. His career has led him to many appointments in senior finance and many roles in various industries including aerospace, food manufacturing, IT, advertising and civil engineering. Currently, he is the Group Financial Controller of Barhale Holdings PLC, a group of specialist civil engineering and associated service companies based in Walsall, finally relocating to a new job where he subsequently met Joan then moved to Ashton-in-Makerfield in Wigan.
His Masonic journey began when he was initiated into Bryn Lodge No 6553 where he was raised to become a master Mason. He is currently the senior deacon in his lodge, having thoroughly enjoyed his time in Freemasonry with learning the rituals with the discipline and commitment required to deliver them in the lodge. He always makes a point of trying to understand the symbology, history and principals behind the rituals, as he believes in understanding them does help to deliver them to a high standard.
John has been encouraged to join the Royal Arch by close friends and brethren in the lodge and has seen this as an opportunity to increase his knowledge and understanding of Freemasonry and to use it to complete his Masonic journey.
The social board was very special, in that all visiting companions were treated with the warmest of greetings and friendliness that had lots of really good banter with plenty of good humour, obviously ensuring many new visits for future meetings.
