The Warrington Group’s annual ‘thanksgiving and re-dedication service’ was held once again at St Elphin’s Church, Warrington. It is a major event in the Warrington calendar, offering group members and their families a chance to connect and celebrate together.

This year, the group adopted a Royal Arch theme to emphasise the unity of Craft and Royal Arch Masonry and requested all brethren who are members of the Royal Arch to wear their Royal Arch regalia.
The Warrington Group Chairman, John Tyrer, and the rest of the group executive were delighted to welcome the Provincial Grand Master, Mark Matthews and his wife Debbie to the service, along with the Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Mo Hussain.
Upon arrival, Cllr Mo Hussain was greeted by Mark and Debbie, followed by several grand officers and distinguished guests, which included Assistant to the Provincial Grand Master Stuart Sutherland Boyd, Warrington Group Chairman John Tyrer, Warrington Group Vice Chairman John McIntyre and Warrington Group Secretary Nick Delaney.
Companions from Gilbert Greenall Chapter No 1250, Elias Ashmole Chapter No 1250 and Travellers Chapter No 4679 were the stewards for the day. Director of ceremonies Bill Wainwright started the service with a procession into the church, which was led by the Warrington Group banner and then banners of each lodge, followed by a procession of senior members of the Craft, along with distinguished guests, together with group officials and clergy.

The service was conducted by Rev Rebecca Lloyd, along with Lee Marsh and Canon John Hall. Rev Rebecca gave a truly heartwarming ceremony, filled with kindness and gentle encouragement. With a warm smile and a calm, reassuring tone, she invited everyone to let go of any stress and simply enjoy the service.
Her words struck a perfect balance between thoughtful reflection and light-hearted joy. Rev Lee Marsh delivered the sermon and Canon John Hall addressed the congregation from the pulpit, relating stories from his childhood.
Jade Murphy and John McIntyre delivered this year’s readings and to complement the service, the Provincial organist, Stephen Derringer, played the church organ.
A collection was held and all monies were generously donated to church funds. Following the service, all who attended were invited back to Warrington Masonic Hall for light refreshments.
