Members of Barlow Moor Lodge No 4525 were delighted to receive grand officer Barry Dickinson, as representative of the Provincial Grand Master, Mark Matthews at their installation meeting where Stephen Golding was installed as WM of the lodge for a fourth time.

The meeting which was held at Urmston Masonic Hall, was reasonably well attended but unfortunately, illness appeared to have inconvenienced a number of the lodge members and some of the senior visiting brethren were obliged to fill vacant office positions. Barry was accompanied by Trafford Group Chairman Patrick Walsh and other distinguished Provincial grand officers, group officers and visiting brethren.
The meeting was opened by WM Mohammed Yusuf and as lodge director of ceremonies Stephen Golding was master elect, assistant director of ceremonies Gareth Jones directed the proceedings, ably guiding installing master Mohammed in the installation of Stephen as the WM for the ensuing year in a most diligent manner.
Excellent presentations of the working tools followed, the third degree tools were presented by Darren Lamberton, followed by Simon Warrington with a presentation of the second degree tools and lodge stalwart Brian Warrington presenting the first degree tools.
An inspiring presentation of the Hall Stone Jewel to the WM was presented by lodge senior warden Darren Lamberton followed by an excellent address to the brethren of the lodge by Barry.
As the installation ceremony was brought to a close, Barry rose at the customary point in the proceedings to convey the best wishes of the Provincial Grand Master, Mark Matthews, offering his congratulations to Stephen on being installed as WM once more and wishing him and the lodge good health to enjoy another happy and healthy year ahead.
Stephen then rose to respond to Barry thanking him for passing on the good wishes of Mark and he had much pleasure in presenting charitable cheques on behalf of the lodge. Barry, having opened the envelope had much pleasure in complimenting the lodge on their generous presentations of £100 towards the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity and £100 to the Flixton toy library and also thanked the lodge on behalf of all those recipients who would eventually benefit from their most kind, charitable giving.
The evening continued with an enjoyable, friendly festive board and the lodge made a further charitable donation by giving the £100 proceeds of the raffle to the Alzheimer’s Society.
Barry, in response to the toast to his health, made references to the importance of completing our Masonic journey with membership of the Royal Arch and commented on improving Masonic recruitment. Finally, Barry went on to say that he had experienced an immensely enjoyable evening and again, on his own behalf, thanked the lodge for their hospitality. A most enjoyable evening was brought to a close in peace and harmony.
