Brethren of Carnarvon Lodge No 2376 held a very special meeting, a light blue lodge night. Carnarvon is fortunate to have a full complement of light blue officers in the lodge as well as more senior brethren to guide and support them. When Mick Norris, a steward of the lodge, set the challenge for the brethren to do a demonstration first degree and all take on new roles, the newer brethren jumped at the chance.

Having had their noses in their blue books throughout the summer recess, the lodge was called off and the brethren were individually invited to take up their respective roles. Finally, the lodge’s senior warden Kieran Taylor-Bradshaw, took up the role as master for the demonstration, in which Barry Scowcroft, a keen volunteer for the role, was the candidate.
The demonstration was a huge success, with all the officers working together well to show a committed team effort and a ceremony that was first class and something to be proud of. It was Stuart McGrath’s first outing as junior deacon and he took the candidate around the lodge with a calmness and reliability that normally comes from many years of experience. The working tools were executed with precision by Stuart MacFarlane who had clearly put a lot of effort into them.
Kieran Taylor-Bradshaw led a good ceremony and the success of the evening was a testament to his hard work and dedication to the lodge. He demonstrated that he is clearly ready to go into the WM’s chair in December, and with him at the helm and the Carnarvon Lodge team behind him, the lodge will continue to go from strength to strength.
