The South Eastern Group of Freemasons welcomed the local community into The Venue Hall to usher in the holiday spirit at their annual Christmas event.
Wayne Devlin of Flixton Lodge No 4869 performed beloved Christmas classics as visitors spanning all ages indulged in yuletide merriment. School choirs also entertained the crowds of proud families, care home residents and new friends made amongst the Freemason hosts.
Mayor of Trafford Councillor Dolores O’Sullivan drew the event’s raffle. Following the raffle, Councillor Dolores O’Sullivan thanked the South Eastern Group brethren for extending this hand of fellowship between local Freemasons and their neighbours. Father Christmas greeted delighted young guests from his hand-crafted grotto, ensuring all left with holiday cheer and a hand full of sweets and chocolates.
Particular recognition is owed to Eddie Wilkinson, Secretary of the South Eastern Group, who personally prepared The Venue room by decorating, furnishing and lighting the space in full holiday grandeur prior to attendees arriving. His tireless efforts were instrumental to the event’s resounding success.
Outreach gatherings such as this exemplify Freemasonry’s ongoing community presence and goodwill. Through such annual traditions, the South Eastern Group proudly continues demonstrating year-round support for the people in their local community and its surrounding areas.
