Garston Masonic Hall was the venue for the initiation into Freemasonry for Ryan Hitchmough, who is the second son of Kevin Hitchmough to be initiated into the Lodge of Harmony No 220.

Master of the lodge Bob Rowland opened the lodge in due form and completed the domestic business including the ballots for a joining member Neil Francis and the initiate Ryan Hitchmough, which both proved to be successful. Mark Mellor, the lodge treasurer, then entered the lodge to inform the WM that Ryan had signed the declaration book and paid the necessary subscriptions.
WM Bob Rowland requested that for the initiation, Eirwyn Jones to take the chair of King Solomon. The initiation began with Kevin Hitchmough taking the role of junior deacon to lead his son Ryan around the lodge for the necessary perambulations and take his obligation delivered by Eirwyn.

Ryan approached the junior warden Philip West who explained the working tools of an entered apprentice. Ryan was then taken to the senior warden Kevin Flynn who delivered the Ancient Charge. The initiation ceremony was carried in an exemplary manner with the Ryan being always made at ease.
Lodge of Harmony is having a successful season, with recruitment at the January meeting when the WM Bob Rowland initiated Jay Wynn and at the October 2024 meeting, Michael Hitchmough was initiated into Freemasonry by Eirwyn Jones.
Bob Rowland closed the lodge in due form and the brethren retired for the festive board where Ryan was welcomed with the traditional Entered Apprentice Song. Kevin Hitchmough also delivered the toast to his son Ryan who responded with a short speech thanking everyone in attendance for welcoming him to the lodge.
