Throughout the whole of May, Ryan Magnall, a member of Prodesse Lodge No 8678 and Quingenti Lodge No 8516, took on the challenge of having a rough ashlar chained to him in order to raise money and awareness for men’s mental health. The charities he is supporting are the Masonic Charitable Fund (MCF), who do incredible work helping people access therapy and support, and Andy’s Man Club, who provide safe spaces for men to talk openly about their mental health.

The goal has been to travel around the Province visiting lodges, speaking at festive boards, and hopefully raising both awareness and funds for these important causes. So far, he has been honoured to visit and speak at: Carnarvon Lodge No 2376, Ashmole Lodge No 5128, and Wigan Lodge No 2326. He has been invited to give a talk at Tuscan Oak Lambert Head and Standish Lodge No 6387 and raise money at Provincial Grand Lodge. The support from both Masons and non-Masons has been incredible.
Through donations to include events, cash contributions, QR code donations and online support, he has currently raised an amazing £2,165 plus an additional £527,50 in Gift Aid. This challenge may have started in May, but the journey is continuing. Ryan will be visiting more lodges in September to keep raising awareness and adding to the collection.

Thank you to everyone who has supported so far, every conversation, donation, and share helps to make a difference.
