Barrow’s Masonic Hall, The Fairfield, was the host venue of the annual Piel Castle Lodge No 6099 Carol Service. The event was expertly organised by the WM and his wife, Nick and Paula Collinge.
Nick and Paula were well supported by over 75 guests. This included members of Piel Castle Lodge, brethren of the Furness and South Lakeland Group along with many families and friends.
As well as carols and Christmas songs, there were readings from members of Piel Castle Lodge and their families; namely, Hayley Gray, Isabel Cottam, Tony Jackson, Paula Collinge, Esme Collinge and of course, the WM himself.
Attendees were all treated to some excellent keyboard accompaniment from guest pianist Sam Southern. After the conclusion of the music, which ended with the Piel Castle Choir singing, ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’, a fantastic raffle followed, with a vast array of prizes on offer. The raffle and proceeds generated £500 for The British Heart Foundation, a wonderful amount for an excellent charity.
The brethren and guests were also treated to some delicious home baked treats from Paula Collinge, her mum and Christine Carlos.
A fantastic festive night was enjoyed by all who attended and the icing on the Christmas cake was the fabulous sum raised in honour of the British Heart Foundation. Well done and thank you to WM Nick, his wife Paula and all of the brethren of Piel Castle Lodge, along with their families. Merry Christmas!
