The three principals and members of Carnforth with Sandylands Chapter No 5702 held their joint convocation meeting at Kerneforde Masonic Hall, Carnforth in the presence of Deputy Grand Superintendent Chris Butterfield. Chris was accompanied by Past Provincial Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison and grand officers Peter Mason, John Robson, David Grainger, Christopher Band, Keith Kemp, Neil McGill and Paul Broadley.

Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Gary Rogerson led the group of acting Provincial grand officers comprising of Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Ian Stirling, Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah John Topping, Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies Ryan Modlin, Provincial Grand Membership Officer Kevin Byrne, Provincial Deputy Grand Registrar Alistair Davidson, Provincial Grand Stewards Les Newlands and Gordon Evans, together with the Chairman of Lancaster and District Group Chris Larder, group vice chairman Dan Crossley and group secretary Lee Fisher.
Nine members of the Provincial stewards’ demonstration team: Stewart Aimson, David Atkinson, Kevin Byrne, Mike Harrison, Eric Kos, Philip Powell, Bob Stafford and Geoff Waters were also in attendance led by Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Ian Stirling to give an explanation of the chapter officers which was followed by an explanation of the chapter banners by companions from chapters within the Lancaster and District Group.

The meeting commenced with an introduction and robing of each of the three principals by the demonstration team commencing with Larry Branyan as third principal then David Shaw as second principal followed by Paul Thompson as first principal. An explanation of who each of the principals represented was narrated by Bob Stafford and Ian Stirling. The chapter was then opened by the three principals and the Charter of Carnforth with Sandylands Chapter was presented by Deputy Grand Superintendent Chris Butterfield.
Keith Kemp, in the role of narrator gave an explanation of the four main banners with each of the 12 smaller banners manned by companions from the Lancaster and District Group who gave a short explanation of each banner.
On completion of the banner explanation, first principal Paul Thompson thanked the demonstration team and companions from Lancaster and District Group chapters then conducted the remaining business of the chapter which was duly closed by the three principals. A total of 57 companions dined at the festive board and enjoyed a hot and cold buffet.
