Forget Me Not Trust, a charity run and supported by Freemasons, officially launched its #NeverForgotten Campaign at Mulino Restaurant in Urmston, marking a significant step towards aiding the homeless and vulnerable members of the community.
The event saw a gathering of influential community figures including Darren Porter, head of Urmston Partnership; Stephen Groves, owner of Home Estate Agents; Daniel Hewitt and Josh Bridgeman, from JP Goldman and the esteemed presence of the Mayor of Trafford, Councillor Dolores O’Sullivan accompanied by Bernie O’Brien.
Ezra McGowan, a member of Hand and Heart Lodge No 4109, the visionary founder of the Forget Me Not Trust, was accompanied by Darren Gregory, also a member of Hand and Heart Lodge who assists with the Trust. Ezra unveiled the #NeverForgotten Campaign with a compelling mission: to collect donated, non-perishable food items for those in need. With a heartfelt plea to the community, Ezra emphasised the critical importance of extending a helping hand to those facing adversity.
The core strategy of the #NeverForgotten campaign revolves around the collaborative efforts of businesses and individuals. Donations of non-perishable food items are encouraged and can be made at Home Estate Agents, conveniently located in the heart of Urmston. The Trust will then diligently collect and distribute these essential supplies to support those who require assistance.
Inspector Scott Wolstenholme from Urmston Police said in an email to the Trust: “Unfortunately, my team are engaged with an ongoing incident and will not be able to attend the launch event. That said, I would really like to have them involved and attending in the near future to support you, your team and this initiative.”
Ezra expressed his gratitude for Mulino Restaurant owner Zola Martini and his staff for hosting the event and also the overwhelming support received thus far and urged the community to join hands in making a tangible difference in the lives of others. He emphasised that no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever forgotten.
As the #NeverForgotten Campaign gains momentum, the Forget Me Not Trust remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a culture of compassion and solidarity within the community that Freemasonry embodies. Together, they strive to ensure that no one is left behind, echoing the sentiment that no individual should ever be forgotten.
Ezra exemplifies the spirit of Freemasonry in his outreach programme that brings Masons and the community together to support all those in need.
