The brethren and guests of Victory Lodge No 6238 assembled in the Roman Suite, at Liverpool Masonic Hall, to celebrate the installation of Kenneth (Ken) Jones into the chair of King Solomon in the presence of John James Assistant Provincial Grand Master. Also in attendance were grand officers Dave Johnson, the Chairman of the Liverpool Group together with Roy Ashley along with a good number of guests and brethren of the lodge.

This was a very special installation ceremony as Ken is due to celebrate his 100th birthday in March 2026. The brethren of the lodge could think of no better tribute to this outstanding Freemason other than to install him as master of the lodge to recognise the high esteem in which he is held.
The immediate past and installing master, Eric Palfreyman, did an outstanding job performing the ceremony whilst paying special attention to ensure that Ken was able to enjoy every single moment. The third degree tools were expertly presented and explained by Brian Mitchell, a guest from Dormer Lodge No 4389. Roy Ashley delivered the address to the WM and John James delivered the address to the brethren of the lodge.
Ken was especially pleased to present cheques for the benefit of Sunflower’s Cancer Charity and Liverpool Masonic Hall for a total of £200. John thanked the brethren for their generosity and assured everybody that the money would be gratefully received and faithfully applied.
Upon completion of the ceremony, Ken emotionally expressed his gratitude to everybody in attendance for making this night so special to him and for taking the time to be present. He thanked the brethren for performing such an excellent and heartfelt ceremony and assured everybody that he very much appreciated being allowed to be WM of this wonderful lodge at the time of his centenary year. It was the best birthday present he could have ever asked for.
On closing the lodge, the brethren retired to a joyous and convivial festive board were the celebrations continued until, as Ken put it, way past his usual bedtime! A wonderful way to celebrate a 100th birthday.
