It was only 10 days previously that Saint John’s of Jerusalem Chapter No 203, had celebrated their bicentenary anniversary, this time it was to celebrate and conduct the installation of its three principals for the ensuing year. Once again, the colourful Egyptian Room at Hope Street Masonic Hall in Liverpool was utilised for the ceremony.
The chapter was honoured by the presence of the principal guest, Past Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Paul Shepherd, Sam Robinson, also a Past Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals and Neil Francis the Liverpool Group Secretary.
The chapter was opened by first principal Steve Dovaston, stand in second principal Steve Callow and third principal Ray Parr. Tom Grimes acted as the director of ceremonies and Steve Carroll was the principal sojourner.
Ray Parr had the pleasure of installing Stephen Carroll into the chair of third principal, with Stephen Cowell, (the acting second principal), installing Ray Parr into the chair of second principal. Unfortunately, Oliver Winder, third principal elect, could not attend so the installation of him being installed into the chair of the first principal will take place at a later date.
The appointment and investiture of the officers of the chapter took place. The companions of the chapter were then addressed by Paul who thanked the principals for the ceremony and for the donations that had been made during the bicentenary celebrations.
After closing the chapter, the companions retired for the festive board and were pleased to be the subject of the response from the principal guest that involved several of them being a part of a jigsaw, much to the delight of the companions.
