Garston Masonic Hall, Island Road, Liverpool was the venue for the passing of David Mason, Alex Mason and Fraser Mason who were initiated into Freemasonry on 24 September 2025 into Lodge of Harmony No 220 in a triple ceremony. WM Kevin Flynn, who was recovering from recent knee surgery, opened the lodge in due form and completed the domestic business of the lodge.

For the purpose of the second degree ceremony, Mick Southern occupied the chair of King Solomon, supported by Mal Yates and Mark Mellor. The ceremony also required three deacons, three junior wardens and three senior wardens. Mick Southern requested that David Mason, Alex Mason and Fraser Mason stand before the senior warden pedestal where they answered the questions alternatively so that they progressed to the second degree. They then proceeded to the WM pedestal where they were entrusted with the grip and password leading to the second degree, they then left the lodge to be prepared for the ceremony.
Mick Southern opened the lodge in the second degree in due form and David Mason, Alex Mason and Fraser Mason entered the lodge. After being duly announced by the inner guard Geoff Bush, senior deacon Peter Bush led them around the lodge, saluting and showing the signs, tokens and words at each of the pedestals before taking the necessary steps to the WM pedestal. Where in harmony they recited the obligation dictated to them by Mick Southern. Mick then explained and demonstrated the signs, token and words of the degree which they copied.
Senior deacon Peter Bush then lead David Mason, Alex Mason and Fraser Mason to Kevin Hitchmough at the junior warden pedestal which they showed the signs, token and words of the degree. They then lead Gary Mason to the senior warden pedestal, again showing the signs, tokens and words of the degree. And under the instruction of Mick Southern, they were invested with the apron and badge of the degree.

Gary Mason explained the second degree working tools (extended version) to the candidates who are his sons and Geoff bush explained the second degree tracing board to them.
It was an excellent ceremony, the candidates were confident and comfortable throughout and all understood the different parts of the ceremony. With appreciation to the senior deacon Peter Bush and Mick Southern on the way the ceremony was conducted and to all the other officers of the lodge who supported them.
