In October 2025, St John’s Lodge No 2825 celebrated 125 years of continuous working at their installation meeting. During that year, WM Malcolm Davis and the brethren raised money for various local charities. WM Malcolm Davis and lodge charity steward Nick Osbourne, spent a busy week visiting Malcolm’s nominated charities to distribute donations of £500 to each charity in time for Christmas.

First visit on the list was Headway, a local Blackpool charity for people with brain injuries and for giving support to their families and carers. Samantha Sweeney Ashcroft accepted the £500 cheque on behalf of Headway Blackpool.
Moving onwards, Malcolm and Nick visited Sam’s Super Heroes, who provide activity bags for young children and activity boxes for older children in Blackpool Victoria Hospital Children’s Ward. They supply about 40 activity boxes every two weeks at a cost of approximately £9 per box. The £500 cheque was presented to Play Specialist Gaye McDonald, who was very happy to receive it.
Trekking further afield, Malcolm presented a £500 cheque to Andrew Mills who is Head Trustee for Helping Hearts Fylde, a charity that supports people in need in the Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde area.
Final visit was to Blackpool Young Carers on Newton Drive in Blackpool. Malcolm presented a £500 cheque to Terry Hodkinson, Head of Business Development and Fundraising at Blackpool Carers Centre.
St John’s Lodge is very proud of their charitable activities, knowing that the lodge is making a difference for many people, their families and carers.
