Garston Masonic Hall Liverpool was the venue for the installation of the three principals of Royal George Chapter No 4119. The chapter was opened in due form by first principal Philip Brown supported by the other principals The domestic business of the chapter was completed, and the dispensation was read for the installation of Alan Jenkins as second principal.

Director of Ceremonies Simon Weatherup retired and was then readmitted and announced that Ian Halsall, representative of Grand Superintendent Mark Matthews, David Atkinson Mersey Valley Group Chairman and grand and acting Provincial grand officers requested admission. First principal Philip Brown said he would be pleased to admit them and greeted Ian Halsall to the chapter.
The first part of the installation was the installing of Alan Jenkins as second principal, he was presented to David Boyes for the purpose of installation, Alan was then obligated and attended to the passages of scripture which were read by David Newland. Alan was then installed into the chair of second principal on completion by David Boyes after receiving the password and then explaining the signs and words.
For the second part of the installation, Ian Thompson was presented to David Cairns after agreeing to take the solemn obligation as third principal and was duly obligated, he then knelt before the third principals chair to attend to some portions of passages of scripture which were read by David Newland and was then seated.
Stephen Kayne was then presented to David Boyes who then agreed reaffirm his previous of obligation he then knelt before the Second Principals chair to attend to some passages of scripture again read by David Newland. Alan Jenkins was then presented to Philip Brown after agreeing to take a solemn obligation as first principal was duly obligated, he then knelt before the first principals chair to attend to some portions of scripture read by David Newland.

Philip Brown then declared a duly constituted conclave of installed first principals. Alan Jenkins was then installed as first principal after giving the password and receiving the signs and words of his chair from Philip. Alan Jenkins then declared a duly constituted conclave of second principals. Stephen Kayne was then installed as second principal after giving the password and receiving the signs and words of his chair from David Boyes. Alan Jenkins declared a duly constituted conclave of third principals. Ian Thompson was then installed as third principal after giving the password receiving the signs and words of his chair.

Philip Brown gave the robe address to the first principal Alan Jenkins. Alan Jenkins then gave the robe address to the second principal Stephen Kayne. Stephen Kayne then gave the robe address to the third principal Ian Thompson and to complete the installation, David Boyes gave the address to the three principals. Ian Halsall brought the congratulations of Mark Matthews to the three principals on their installation.
At the festive board on response to his toast, Ian Halsall gave his own personnel congratulations to the three principals on an enjoyable ceremony that went smoothly. Ian went on to explain several points of the West Lancashire Charity Office including any communication will be confidential and the funds are underused.
Ian said that there is a push from London with Membership Challenge, and it is important that Form P’s are properly completed and sent to the Provincial Office. Members are encouraged to register on the Portal; members are also being initiated in large numbers which is making up for the numbers we have lost in past years. Ian discussed the Light Blue clubs which is putting members in touch who are at a similar stage in Freemasonry.
