Once again, the Liverpool Group has stepped up to answer the call to support the Provincial Food Bank Appeal. To continue the success of the appeal in previous years, the group has once again supported the Breckfield and North Everton Neighbourhood Council food bank. The BNENC is a registered charity and the staff are very receptive and appreciative of the support provided by the group.

The charity and Liverpool group have readily engaged throughout the year and the group chairman Dave Johnson wishes to thank Paul Robinson MBE, who is a key worker within the organisation, for arranging the food to be collected and for the personal delivery of hampers within the community.
Access is also provided to BRNENC’s in-house specialist advisor regarding welfare rights to anybody seeking such support. It delivers a support programme for residents who are classed as clinically extremely vulnerable via its Kick Start 2 Health team. This work includes access to mental health counsellors, health and exercise workshops, crime prevention advice and access to IT hubs.
Spiritual and pastoral care is available via Trinity Church, Everton. It provides activities for local 10 to 17 year olds such as sports and fitness, trips out, cooking workshops and one-to-one support. This helps to keep local youngsters away from exposure to gang culture.
Due to the generosity of brethren and companions meeting in Liverpool Masonic Hall, the total raised this year was a magnificent £5,358 which includes a very generous donation by the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity to whom Dave, the brethren and companions express their sincere gratitude for their involvement and support.
Dave is extremely proud to serve as group chairman of the Liverpool Group and is always humbled by the group’s charitable and generous nature. Be assured that thanks to the donations, Christmas was made a whole lot better for so many vulnerable people.
Dave Johnson,
Liverpool Group Chairman.
