Fylde Light Blues were out in force as Cleveleys Masonic Hall came alive to the sound of local rock band, Tripwire. The four-piece group delivered a high-energy set spanning classic 70s rock through to modern favourites, much to the delight of an enthusiastic crowd.
Two of the band members are well known within the Masonic fraternity, with Blackpool Group Chairman Steve Jelly on bass guitar and vocals and fellow lodge member Bob Coughtrey on drums and vocals, both proud members of Emblem Lodge No 6727.Guests also enjoyed a hearty hotpot supper courtesy of Yes Chef Catering, which added to the relaxed and sociable atmosphere.
The evening formed part of the Fylde Light Blues on-going programme of social and cultural events designed to strengthen fraternal bonds, involving partners and friends and offering opportunities to enjoy shared experiences outside the formal lodge setting. A live music night was chosen to provide something energetic, inclusive and something a little different from the usual events on the calendar.
Fylde Light Blues Chairman, Ian Fell, thanked the band members of Tripwire and everyone else for their support and together with club secretary Del Hernen, a raffle was organised that raised an impressive £195 for good causes. All light blue Masons are encouraged to keep an eye on upcoming events and join in the growing programme of socials and activities.
