James Booth was installed as the master of Andrew Lodge No 3328. In attendance as the representative of the Provincial Grand Master Mark Matthews and the principal guest was Andrew Barton accompanied by David Marlor the Deputy Chairman of the Trafford Group.

Before the lodge opened, David Marlor had a pleasant duty which was to present Andrew Barton with the now traditional Trafford Treats (Eccles cakes). The lodge was opened by the WM Stephen Dyson and the regular business was carried out. Then Andrew Barton and David Marlor were then admitted and salutations given.
The installation of James Booth into the chair of King Solomon for the first time was done in the usual Andrew Lodge way, with great humour and great sincerity, and to the enjoyment of all present. The working tools for each degree were done by Scot Buckley in the third degree, Mike Peers in the second degree, and by entered apprentice David Robinson in the first degree. With all presentations of good quality.
WM James Booth then presented Andrew Barton with a donation of £500 to the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity. Andrew thanked James and the brethren of the lodge for their generous donation. With all the installation work and lodge business completed, James closed the lodge and all retired to the festive board.
At the festive board, Andrew said he need not talk to the brethren about charity as the donation given showed the lodges commitment to it. The raffle during the festive board raised over £250. Andrew Barton thanked David Merlor for his company for the evening and wished all the brethren a good year and to enjoy their Masonry
