Lever Park Lodge No 8144, which meets at Ridgmont House in Horwich, celebrated a memorable evening with the installation of its new master Ian Smith. With the principal guest Jonathan Mark Heaton, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, who was accompanied by grand officers and David Hargreaves the group secretary.

The ceremony saw Ian Smith, installed as master of the lodge for the first time. A feat he has been preparing for since his start in Masonry. He was presented for installation by his close friend and lodge member, Gary Matthews.
The installing master on the evening was Mike Greenhalgh, who conducted the ceremony with great skill and dignity. The lodge’s director of ceremonies, Derek English ensured that the evening ran with precision and smoothness befitting the occasion.

Once Ian had been installed in to King Solomon’s chair, the addresses were given with sincerity and meaning to the master by Peter Idle and the working tools were presented in an exemplary manner by the following; Rai Hirst, Peter Hannis and Derek English, they did the first, second and third-degree tools respectively. Jonathan then gave an excellent rendition of the address to the brethren of the lodge.
The evening concluded with a warm and convivial festive board, highlighted by the Master’s Song, beautifully rendered by Peter Hannis, which brought the celebrations to a fitting close. The event was a true reflection of the harmony, dedication, and friendship that continues to thrive within the lodge, making it a night to remember for all who attended.
