Harmonic Lodge No 216 meets at The Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool and is a member of the Gladstone Group. The lodge brethren were delighted to welcome Kai Hughes, Provincial Grand Orator, representing the Provincial Grand Master Mark Matthews, on the occasion of their installation meeting.

The lodge was opened in the first degree by WM Philip Marshall and he welcomed the principal guest Kai Hughes, accompanied by Gladstone Group Chairman Paul Storrar, to great applause from all the brethren. The lodge was then opened in the second degree and third degrees. All brethren below the rank of grand officer then rose and greeted the principal guest with three grand or royal signs, Kai Hughes then rose and thanked the brethren.
Master elect Ian Elsby was then presented by Ron Davies to the WM. Ian then recited his obligation impeccably. The WM then declared a Board of Installed Masters. WM Philip Marshall then installed Ian Elsby in the chair of King Solomon with great dignity. The brethren present then saluted the new master with five grand or royal signs.

Master Masons were then admitted and saluted the newly installed WM, and the lodge was resumed in the second degree. Fellow craft Freemasons were then admitted and saluted the WM and the lodge then resumed working in the first degree and the brethren saluted the WM as entered apprentices.
The WM then installed his officers for the ensuing year, the tyler Rob Morris was admitted and installed for the next year. Mike Melling delivered a wonderful address to the newly installed WM Ian Elsby. Paul Shirley then delivered the address to the wardens with great style. Kai Hughes then gave the address to the brethren of the lodge. The director of ceremonies John Donnelly announced to the WM that concluded the ceremony.
Kai Hughes then gave the WM the congratulations of the Provincial Grand Master Mark Matthews. The WM then delivered the charitable donations to the principal guest, which were; Stick ‘n’ Step (children with cerebral palsy) £200, Guide Dogs for the Blind £200, Maghull Young Adults Social Club £200, Claire House (West Derby) £200, Veteran’s in Sefton £200, Zoes Place £200, Liverpool Samaritan’s £200 and Harmonic Widows £150 making a total of £1,750.
The DC formed the recession for the principal guest and other grand officers to retire. The newly installed WM then closed the lodge with the assistance of his wardens and all the brethren retired to the festive board.
