Leyland St Andrew’s Lodge No 7391, proudly marked a significant milestone in its history in January, hosting its first-ever double initiation ceremony at The Hub, Walton Summit. In a ceremony conducted with dignity, warmth and exemplary ritual, two candidates were simultaneously welcomed into the Craft.
It was a rare and memorable occasion for the lodge brethren. The evening reflected the strength, unity and continued growth of Freemasonry in the local community. The ceremony was led by the master of the lodge, Jeff Lucas, whose calm authority and sincerity set the tone for the proceedings. He was ably supported by his officers; senior warden Chris Hughes and director of ceremonies David Bishop, with the junior warden Darren Norris and senior deacon Eddie Cornish.
An explanation of the working tools of an entered apprentice was delivered by Robin Dodd. filled by a regular visitor and valued friend of the lodge, Luke Walton. The Charge After Initiation was delivered with heartfelt meaning and clarity by Darren Norris. With David Norris offering guidance and encouragement to the newly initiated brethren as they begin their Masonic journey.
The lodge was blessed with the presence of 27 visitors from other lodges, who attended to witness the historic occasion and to extend a warm and fraternal welcome to the new Masons. Their attendance was a powerful demonstration of the unity and fellowship that lie at the heart of Freemasonry.
throughout the evening, there was an atmosphere of pride and celebration, underscoring the importance of this landmark event in the lodge’s history. The successful conduct of the first double initiation reflects the dedication and teamwork of the officers and brethren of the lodge.
