Royal Oak Lodge No 5919 has continued its commitment to supporting important community organisations by donating £200 to the Willow Garden Project in Fleetwood and £200 to Headway Blackpool Wyre and Fylde. Both charities provide essential support to vulnerable people across the Fylde Coast and reflect the lodge’s ongoing dedication to helping those who improve lives through practical, compassionate work.

The Willow Garden Project operates from Fleetwood Cricket Club and provides a safe, structured and welcoming outdoor environment for people with disabilities, learning difficulties, mental health needs, older adults and individuals experiencing social isolation. The project uses gardening, horticulture, sensory activities and nature based workshops to help participants develop confidence, learn new skills and improve their wellbeing. Volunteers and staff maintain the garden throughout the year, ensuring that the space remains accessible and enjoyable for all those who attend. The donation from Royal Oak Lodge will support ongoing maintenance, workshop materials and improvements to the sensory and wildlife areas used by service users.

Headway Blackpool Wyre and Fylde is a local branch of the national Headway charity, supporting people living with acquired brain injury. The charity assists individuals who have experienced injury through accidents, illness, stroke or trauma, many of whom face long term challenges such as memory difficulties, fatigue, mobility issues and reduced independence. Headway provides support groups, activity sessions, cognitive exercises, social opportunities and guidance for families and carers. The organisation plays a vital role in helping people rebuild confidence, regain independence and reconnect with their community. As a small local branch, Headway relies heavily on donations and volunteer support, making contributions such as this especially valuable.

Members of Royal Oak Lodge expressed their appreciation for the work carried out by both charities and were pleased to support organisations that deliver meaningful benefit within the local community. These donations reflect Freemasonry’s longstanding commitment to charity, community service and assisting groups that make a positive difference across West Lancashire. The members of Royal Oak Lodge also extend their best wishes to everyone involved with the Willow Garden Project and Headway Blackpool Wyre and Fylde and look forward to seeing the continued growth and success of both charities.
