Three new principals were installed at the installation convocation for Great Eccleston Chapter No 8895. Jonathan Slee was installed as first principal, Joseph Ayrton as second principal and Eddie Parkinson as third principal.
Second Provincial Grand Principal Michael Threlfall was the principal guest, and he was accompanied by Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies Rob Fitzsimmonds, Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Gary Rogerson and the Vice Chairman of the Lancaster and District Group Daniel Crossley.
The ceremony was conducted by director of ceremonies Stephen Hogg, who also presented Eddie Parkinson as third principal elect. Immediate past first principal Les Newlands presented Joseph Ayrton as second principal elect and Scott Devine presented Jonathan Slee as first principal elect. David Thornton was installing first principal with John Thornton as installing scribe Nehemiah.
Stuart Mowbray, Glyn Davies and Vic Meddings presented the scripture readings to the third, second and first principals, respectively. The robe address to the first principal was given by Neal Hartley, to the second principal by Tom Alberts and to the third principal by Les Newlands. On completion of the installation ceremony, first principal Jonathan Slee appointed and invested his officers for the year.
Michael Threlfall brought greetings from the Grand Superintendent Mark Matthews and congratulated the newly installed principals and all those who had taken part in the ceremony. Michael was presented with a donation in the sum of £901 for the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity. Michael gave thanks to the companions of the chapter for their generous donation.
