Companions of Earl of Lathom Chapter No 730, which meet at Chorley Masonic Hall, welcomed the Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah John Topping, as the principal guest when he represented the Grand Superintendent to their installation ceremony.

After a busy 12 months as first principal, Bill Nelson installed George Askins into the chair of first principal. Chris Upton was installed into the chair of the second principal and Patrick Martindale was installed into the chair of the third principal.
Over 50 companions attended the installation ceremony, including the Chorley and Leyland Group Chairman David Bishop, two grand officers and other acting Provincial grand officers. Everyone witnessed a well-rehearsed ceremony, and following the ceremony, enjoyed a most convivial festive board.
John Topping conveyed the congratulations and good wishes of the Grand Superintendent Mark Matthews, and congratulated the three of the installing principals and the chapter director of ceremonies Denis Martindale, on the hard work they had put in to deliver an excellent and sincere ceremony.
George Askins present cheques for a number of charities amounting to a total of £1,000, to which John Topping received on behalf of the recipients with gratitude and thanked George and the companions of the chapter for their generous donations.
The ensuing year promises to be a very busy for the newly installed three principals as they have two double exaltations planned and a 50th anniversary to be celebrated.
