Garston Masonic Hall on Island Road, Liverpool was the venue for the event raising much needed funds to support this valuable organisation. This is another example of Mal Yates, the Garston Hall Chairman, liaising with the local community and with Paula Johnson, Every Woman Sparkles Community Interest Company to raise funds for the community which on this occasion is Liverpool Bereavement Service.

Liverpool Bereavement Services provide counselling for people who are struggling to cope with the loss of a spouse, relative or close friend. The counsellors are experienced, qualified vetting therapists who will work in a way which is not judgemental, accepting you and your situation unconditionally and respectively. They provide a comfortable safe environment to explore people’s feelings and hopes for the future.

The afternoon commenced with a talk from Kate Auguste a representative from Bereavement Service, followed by a meal, raffles and other fundraising activities. The entertainment was given Vicky Jones and the Merseyside Ladies Choir, followed by Sophie Marie, a well-known Liverpool vocalist. The event was an enjoyable afternoon with an attendance of 75 which raised the magnificent sum of £2,000 for Liverpool Bereavement Service, another example of Garston Masonic Hall and the local community raising funds for a deserved valuable service.
