Garston Masonic Hall, in association with Every Woman Sparkles Community, hosted an afternoon fundraiser for Down Syndrome Liverpool (DSL). The event welcomed 45 guests including Margaret Hogan, Chair of Downs Syndrome Liverpool, and raised £1,100 for DSL.
The afternoon comprised of a talk from the representative of DSL Emma Davies, two course meal, fashion show plus raffles and entertainment from Sophie Logan. DSL is a voluntary parent led charity offering a wide range of support to families, carers and professionals to provide social events and educational resources for individuals with Down Syndrome and their families.
It is a registered charity based in Liverpool and run by parents and carers. The organisation focuses on people with Down Syndrome having the opportunity to reach their full potential with funds raised going directly to support their individual programs. Mal Yates, Garston Masonic Hall Chairman and member of Lodge of Harmony No 220, is proud to be organising these events with Paula Johnson from Every Woman Sparkles. These events raise the profile of the hall in liaising with the local community in raising much needed funds for local good causes and since July 2025, events have raised over £7,000.
