The ladies met at Garson Masonic Hall on Island Road, Liverpool, and the weather did not dampen the spirit of the ladies. A full Christmas dinner was served with all the trimmings and was enjoyed by all and sponsored by West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity and organised by the group almoner Keith Williams.

This event is part of the Broken Collar Initiative and celebrates the lives of widows and their supporting families. The initiative is a testament to the enduring commitment and care for families and a heartfelt reminder of lasting impact of a brother’s life. The initiative is to invite the ladies out from being alone to being in a safe environment and to meet old friends from social events and make new friends. They meet four times a year for social gatherings but this is always a special meeting with 26 ladies dining.
Entertainment for the event was provided by Bill Wenton, a past master of Harthill Lodge No 8443, who is a regular entertainer on the Liverpool club scene. Bill soon had the ladies singing and dancing to his tunes, both new and old.
