A bright and pleasant Sunday morning provided an excellent backdrop as the Fylde light blues held their latest breakfast gathering at the Tractor Shed Bistro within Farmer Parrs Animal World in Fleetwood. The venue offered a varied and generous menu and all 36 attendees, comprising of Masons, friends and families, were warmly welcomed and well catered for. With chairman Ian Fell recovering from a recent operation, the event was ably led by secretary Del Hernen.
The Fylde light blues were pleased to receive the newly appointed North Fylde Group Chairman, Eddie Wilkinson, together with the new vice chairman, John Topping. Del extended sincere congratulations to both brethren on their recent promotions and expressed the group’s appreciation for their attendance. Further congratulations were offered to the Fylde Light Blues Treasurer, Andy Greenlees, on his appointment as group secretary.
Del also took the opportunity to acknowledge the dedicated service of outgoing group chairman Jon Cross. He expressed gratitude for Jon’s steadfast support of the Fylde light blues over many years, noting his patience, encouragement and guidance. Del added, with good humour, that Eddie now inherits a high standard to follow.
As Andy Greenlees prepares to step down from his role as group treasurer to focus on his new responsibilities as secretary, the group is grateful to Chris Noden for volunteering to assume the important office of group treasurer. The Fylde light blues were further honoured by the presence of Assistant Provincial Grand Master Michael Tax, whose continued support for the group is greatly appreciated.
Fylde light blues continue to look forward to a busy programme of events. A workshop will be held on Monday 27 July, at the Palace Masonic Hall in St Annes. The afternoon tea, also at the Palace, on Sunday 2 August is already fully booked, demonstrating its continued popularity. Chairman Ian Fell continues to rotate breakfasts and workshops across the Fylde coast and ongoing support for these events is warmly encouraged. The workshops provide a welcoming and informal environment in which all Masons, particularly newer brethren, may enhance their understanding of lodge etiquette, explore the origins of long established traditions and build confidence in their roles within the lodge.
