The sun shone brightly on Cleveleys promenade as the annual Cleveleys Car Show once again drew crowds from across the Fylde coast and this year, the Fylde Freemasons were proud to be part of the event with a dedicated stand designed to welcome visitors, answer questions and offer a friendly introduction to Freemasonry.

Leading the team on the day was North Fylde Group Membership Officer Gavin Egan, who attended despite only recently recovering from an illness. His presence set the tone for the day, warm, committed and determined to ensure that anyone curious about Freemasonry felt able to approach the stand and have an open conversation.
Throughout the event, brethren from lodges across the North Fylde Group spoke with members of the public who were interested in the Craft, its values and its contribution to the local community. Many visitors were pleasantly surprised to learn just how active Freemasonry is in the Fylde area, from charitable giving and community support to social events and family-friendly activities.
The stand offered a relaxed, informal space where people could chat freely, pick up information and discover that modern Freemasonry is open, welcoming and rooted in the principles of integrity, friendship, respect and charity. Several meaningful conversations took place with potential new members, as well as with families who simply wanted to understand more about what Freemasons do.
For the brethren present on the stand, the day was also an opportunity to strengthen ties with the wider community. Events like the Cleveleys Car Show allow Freemasonry to be visible in a positive, approachable way, showing that behind the regalia and tradition lies a group of ordinary men who enjoy fellowship, support good causes and contribute quietly but consistently to local life.
As the crowds drifted away and the classic engines fell silent, the North Fylde Group could reflect on a successful day of engagement. The conversations started on the promenade may well lead to new friendships, new members and a deeper understanding of the craft within the community we proudly serve.
