For Patrick Cambra, a member of St Anne’s Lodge No 2457, this summer has brought a mixture of enormous pride and a very practical challenge. His granddaughter Rosie is a member of Infinity Cheer, a cheerleading club based in Leyland that has spent over a decade building young athletes into competitors.

The club was founded in 2012 by Sian Thorley, and the club has built a reputation for turning out talented, disciplined teams. In 2026 it has achieved something it has never managed before: not one, but three of its squads, Atomic, Astro and Solar, have qualified to compete at the Allstar World Championships in Florida in April 2027.
It’s a landmark moment for the club. Solar, the senior team, already know what it takes to compete among the best, having reached the finals at Worlds in 2025. Now they’ll be joined by Atomic and Astro, taking the total number of Infinity Cheer athletes travelling to America to 45, Rosie among them.
Reaching Worlds is one thing; getting there is another. Between flights, accommodation, competition fees and everything else that comes with taking 45 athletes across the Atlantic, the club estimates the trip will cost in the region of £90,000, roughly £2,000 for every girl on the mat. It’s a significant sum for any family, and the club has made it clear that no athlete should be left behind because of the cost.
That’s where Patrick came to his fellow Freemasons. As a proud grandad and a proud member of St Anne’s Lodge, he reached out to his Freemason family for a little help spreading the word, and to ask whether any of them might be able to support Rosie and her teammates on their journey to Florida. It’s exactly the kind of request that sits at the heart of what Freemasonry is about.
Our core principles, integrity, friendship, respect and service, aren’t just words on a certificate; they’re a way of looking out for each other and for the wider community we’re part of. West Lancashire Freemasons regularly support young people and good causes across the Province, and Rosie’s story is a reminder that helping our own often means helping the people our members love most.
If you’d like to support Rosie, her teammates, and Infinity Cheer’s bid to represent the UK on the world stage, you can donate via their GoFundMe page, every contribution, whatever the size, brings these young athletes one step closer to Florida. Donations can be made by clicking here. Good luck to Rosie and all of Infinity Cheer, West Lancashire Freemasons will be cheering you on.
