Anfield Lodge No 2215 is a football lodge that welcomes members of all footballing backgrounds. It was founded by John Houlding, a local businessman and politician who also established Liverpool Football Club.
Everton Free School was created to support children aged 13 to 16 who have been excluded from or are at risk of being excluded from mainstream schools. Andrew Poole, the Assistant Head of Everton Free School and a member of Anfield Lodge, reached out to the members to seek their assistance.
Given the strong connection between Anfield Lodge and Liverpool Football Club, both of which were established by John Houlding, the lodge members were quick to offer their full support to Andrew. The donation from Anfield Lodge has allowed Everton Free School to collaborate with the Liverpool FC Foundation to create hampers, which have been distributed to deserving families in the local area.
On the day the hampers were to be distributed, Andrew Whittle, Assistant Provincial Grand Master of the Province of West Lancashire, along with Chris Lyon and Andrew Poole, all members of Anfield Lodge, went to the Liverpool Football ground to meet some of the children who would benefit from the Christmas hampers. They also presented a cheque to the hardworking members of the Liverpool and Everton Foundation team on behalf of the brethren of Anfield Lodge.
