Brethren and guests of Yachtsman’s Lodge No 3698 met in the Geoffrey Hirst Masonic Suite which is situated inside Woolton Golf Club. The occasion was to witness their first Pathway candidate being raised to the sublime degree of a master Mason.
After the lodge had been opened in the usual format and the opening business of the lodge had been concluded Daniel Kendal answered the usual questions in the second degree with confidence and then retired from the lodge to be prepared for his ceremony of being raised to the third degree.
During his absence, the lodge was opened to the third degree and after the tyler had given the proper reports on the door Daniel was admitted and met by the lodge deacons who were to accompany him during his journey through the ceremony of raising.
WM Daniel Crichton performed an excellent ceremony, one of which the lodge should be justly proud and he was assisted in part of the ceremony by David Keay his IPM.
Andrew Jones acted as the lodge chaplain for the evening. After an enjoyable ceremony, the brethren retired to the dining room for some well-earned refreshment followed by a very enjoyable festive board.
