Corinthian Chapter No 2350 installation was held at Hindley masonic Halll in the presence of Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Malcolm Alexander. Also in attendance were grand officers Stanley Oldfield and Geoffrey Porter, accompanied by acting Provincial grand officers Derek English, Paul Hardman Ian Tupling and Paul Grey.
The chapter was opened in good form by the three principals, Brian Rollins, Paul Joynson and Raymond Pye, immediately followed by all the companions standing to order in memoriam of Chris Reeman, a much-missed member and a former Wigan Group Vice Chairman.
Daryl Grundy, third principal elect, was obligated by Raymond Pye, second principal elect Raymond Pye was obligated by Paul Joynson and Paul Joynson, first principal elect, was obligated by Brian Rollins, all of which were performed with sincerity and meaning, as were the readings and prayers by Alan Johnson, Pete Newell and Onoseme Ekakitie.
A duly constituted conclave of installed first principals was declared and the three elects Paul Joynson were installed. All the installations were performed with dignity and to the acclaim of all present.
Once the remaining companions were admitted, the three principals were proclaimed and the robe addresses excellently delivered.
An extremely pleasant duty next fell to Stanley Oldfield who presented and explained the Grand Chapter certificate to Onoseme Ekakitie, after which alms were collected.
The past first principal presented cheques for £300 to WLFC and £250 to Hindley Masonic Hall, both of which were gratefully received by Malcolm Alexander on behalf of the eventual recipients.
Once the Chapter was closed all 31 attendees were treated to a splendid festive board in the function room downstairs. At the end of the evening, all retired home happy and looking forward to the next chapter meeting in December.
