Chorley Masonic Hall hosted a splendid exaltation ceremony for David Rostron into Chorley Chapter No 6287. The companions were joined by guests and honoured by the presence of Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Paul Hesketh and Chorley and Leyland Group Royal Arch Lead Kevin Byrne.
The chapter was opened at 6:30pm by the three principals, first principal Richard Higson, second principal Simon Dalley and David Hatchard as acting third principal. After confirmation of the minutes of the previous convocation, a fine exaltation ceremony took place, with work being conducted in a most impressive and delightful ceremony.
The acting principal sojourner Tom Richardson, echoing the high standards performed by all, guiding David Rostron during the ceremony. The proceedings were overseen by the chapter’s director of ceremonies Derek Whittle in a highly efficient and commendable manner. Roger Mason (Snr) also explained the signs in the Royal Arch in an exemplary manner.

Kevin Byrne welcomed David and in congratulating him, he also presented the relevant documents to the exaltee.
The festive board was a most enjoyable and lively affair. Eric Kos proposed a toast to the health of the newly exalted companion, and in responding to that toast, David expressed his sincere thanks for the way that all of the companions had welcomed him and made his night so memorable.
Paul Hesketh, Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals, also congratulated David on taking the next most important step on his Masonic journey. Paul went on to highlight the indissoluble link between the Craft and Royal Arch Masonry and hoped that this would encourage others to follow David’s footsteps.
