Chapter of Truth No 6235 held its annual installation convocation at Leigh Masonic Hall and the chapter was honoured by its principal guest, Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals John Selley. Accompanied by grand officers David Case and Geoff Bent, along with Vice Chairman of the Wigan and Leigh Group, Mike Purcell. Geoff Bent was the chapter director of ceremonies, assisted by Steve Gerrard.

The first principal was Garry Bryon, second principal Andrew Hardman and third principal David Pickles, Geoff conducted the ceremony in what was to be expected, a flawless ceremony, on all accounts.
The chapter was opened in a very smooth and efficient manner by the three principals, summons was read, then Geoff went to see that those officers outside the chapter room were ready to enter the chapter. The official greetings were given by John conveying the best wishes from the Grand Superintendent Mark Matthews.
The next business was to install the three principals. The ceremonial proceedings began with Garry installing Andrew, Garry conveyed the ritual in a wonderful demonstration of sincerity. Andrew then installed David Pickles with a compelling rendition of dignity and humility, finally David installed the third principal Paul Hook in a very pleasing manner, all in all a truly wonderful experience for those visitors who were present.
The chapter readings were given by John Galbraith, Jason Hardman and Simon Isherwood, who are all companions of the chapter, the robe addresses were given by Mick O’Brien to third principal, Geoff Bent to second principal and Steve Holcroft to first principal. Eventually many new officers had exchanged collars leading to new positions in the chapter. Finally, David Case gave the address to the three principals wishing them the best of health and happiness for the next year in their offices. The chapter was finally closed in peace and harmony.
At the festive board the companions were treated to a wonderful three course meal with wine, tea and coffee.

In the wine takings, John thanked the third principal for proposing the toast to the Provincial officers and associating his name with that toast. John expressed the importance of using Solomon and the Portal website with the importance of getting registered, he made a special mention of the Provincial Ball and getting booked in before 31 December 2026, Provincial Grand Lodge will be on 8 May 2026 and the Provincial Grand Chapter will be on 23 September 2026. John thanked vice-chairman Mike Purcell, publicity officer Tony Roe and group mentor Eddie Atherton, for the work they have done behind the scenes, but most of all, enjoyment is key to being a Freemason, finally congratulating the new director of ceremonies, Steve Gerrard.
Many companions stayed behind for a short while for some extra refreshments and catch up.
