Following the completion of the domestic business of Dalton-in-Furness Chapter No 6828, director of ceremonies Kieron Mullan retired and then re-entered the chapter room and announced that Barrie Crossley, Past Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals, representing the Grand Superintendent Mark Matthews requested admission.

Barry was accompanied by grand officer David Grainger, Vice-Chairman of the Furness and South Lakeland Group Harry Chatfield and other distinguished companions, along with acting Provincial Grand Steward Darren Stainton. Fiesr principal Jamie Lindsay welcomed Barrie to the chapter, who remarked that he was really looking forward to the ceremony.
The installation ceremony began with Kieron presenting Mort Richardson, David Baker and Keith Templeton as the three principals elect. Jamie Lindsay did an excellent job of installing his successor, Mort, in a shortened ceremony. Mort, in turn, did a fine job of installing his successor, David, with the full ceremony. David installed Keith as third principal, again, with a shortened ceremony. Two robe addresses were not given as both the first and third principals had held their respective offices before. Mort again showed his ability as a ritualist and delivered the second principal robe address in what was a great ceremony.
On completion of the installation ceremony, Barrie rose and congratulated all those who had taken part and said that the friendliness in the ceremony shone through. Mort then presented Barrie with a cheque for £200 for the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity and a cheque for £200 for the St Mary’s Hospice. Barrie thanked Mort and the members of the chapter for their generous donations.
With all the business complete, all the companions retired to the festive board. At the festive board, it was announced that the collection in the chapter room had raised £100, and the raffle had raised £285.
