The Stroke Association is the only UK wide charity solely concerned with supporting people in their life after suffering from a stroke. It funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation.
They also help stroke patients and their families directly through its Life After Stroke Services. These include stroke recovery service and communication support. A stroke happens when the blood supply to part of the brain is cut off, killing brain cells. Damage to the brain can affect how the body works. It can also change how you think and feel. The effects of a stroke depend on where it takes place in the brain, and how big the damaged area is.
As part of the charitable donations at the installation meeting of Borough Lodge No 3996, the new master of the lodge David Makinson was delighted to present a cheque for £250 to Assistant Provincial Grand Master Peter Schofield to be passed on to the charity,
