Widnes Masonic Hall, Kingsway, Widnes was the venue for the installation of the three principals in Bold and St Paul’s Chapter No 5459. The chapter was opened in due form at 6:30 by the three principals; David Molyneux, Robert Smith and John Horn assisted by principal sojourner David Lace and scribe Nehemiah Stewart Parker.

The DC Derek Parker retired for a short time to join a procession. An alarm was raised, and the DC was admitted and announced that Ian Stirling Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals seeked admission. Ian was accompanied by grand officers and acting Provincial grand officers. Ian was welcomed to the chapter by David Molyneux hoped that he would enjoy the ceremony.
The next business was to install the three principals. The DC presented Ian Locke as third principal elect, John Horn as second principal elect and Robert Smith as first principal elect. With the principals having taken their positions, appointment and investment of the officers for the ensuing year was carried out
The new first principal had a pleasant duty to perform, that being to make a presentation of a cheque for the sum of £250 to the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity for which Ian thanked the companions for their continued generosity.
The business of the evening being completed it was time for companions to retire and partake of the festive board.
