Brethren of St John’s Lodge No 2825 held their lunch time Christmas Party on at The Cliffs Hotel in Blackpool. The lunch was attended by 150 people and included a visit by Father Christmas to the extreme delight of the children present.
The brethren and guests were happy to be entertained with Christmas songs and carols by B FLOC (Blackpool and Fylde Light Opera Company) a local amateur dramatic and musical society in Blackpool, who will be performing the Queen musical ‘We will rock you’ at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre.
Food at The Cliffs Hotel was excellent and all the staff were amazing, considering there were so many people there. The guests didn’t even have to pre-order. There was a large raffle, a grand prize of a double air fryer for £1 in the envelope draw.
Everyone enjoyed several games of bingo and the atmosphere was of great enjoyment and as one gentleman mentioned, for him it was always the start of the Christmas celebrations. This is an annual event of St John’s Lodge and there is always plenty of space for more people should anyone wish to book for next year. This annual event raises over £1,000 for Masonic and non-Masonic charities every year.
