Following a regular meeting of Blackpool Lodge No 1476, the brethren at the festive board were honoured to have a special guest, Luke Minns, a representative of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
In a display of Masonic community support, Luke had been invited the festive board for a special reason. Ian Fowler, the master of Blackpool Lodge, had the pleasure of presenting him with a donation of £600, which had been raised by the members of the lodge, to the local RNLI.
Freemasons have for many years been actively involved in supporting the work of the RNLI charity and this donation of £600 will play a crucial role in providing the RNLI with essential equipment, ensuring their safety as they respond to emergencies and enabling them to continue saving lives at sea.
Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives. The brethren of Blackpool Lodge are proud to have been able to help to make this achievement possible.
