Brethren of Ashmole Lodge No 5128 in the Warrington Group welcomed into their lodge Garry Peter Maddocks as he took the first step into the brotherhood of Freemasonry.

The master of the lodge David Holmes conducted the ceremony on this special occasion whilst Bill Wainwright gave an excellent rendition of the Charge. The two brethren who proposed Garry, Graham Marsh, the junior warden and James Cooper, the junior Deacon, led Garry around the lodge with James Cooper presenting the first degree working tools.
Garry was joined on the night by his close friend Vincent Dover, Provincial Senior Grand Deacon in the Province of East Lancashire, and a member of Coronation Lodge No 7258 in West Lancashire.
The warm welcome into Freemasonry continued at the social board, where Garry gave an excellent response to the toast made to him by Graham Marsh. Garry will get to see a different view of the ceremony when Ashmole Lodge initiates another new member in March.
