The installation convocation of Coronation Chapter of Westhoughton No 7258 was held at Westhoughton Masonic Hall. The evening saw David Parker installed as first principal, along with Philip Johnson as second principal and Keith Bennett as third principal.
With the three principals being installed, the newly installed first principal then proceeded to install his officers for the coming year. Companions were expertly guided through the installation by the newly invested director of ceremonies Jeremey Dootson, ably assisted by Malcolm Jukes and his supporting team of installing officers.
Principal guest at the installation ceremony was Second Provincial Grand Principal Michael Threlfall, who brought greetings on behalf of the Grand Superintendent Mark Mathews. Michael was accompanied by Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Paul Hesketh.
A donation of £750 was made at the installation to the charity SANDS, which supports bereaved families affected by the death of a baby. Michael thanked the companions of the chapter for their generous donation.
Following the installation meeting, a most enjoyable festive board was provided by the catering team at Brookfield Hall, Westhoughton Masonic Hall, and was thoroughly enjoyed by the many companions and guests. Michael Threlfall congratulated the new principals and the officers of the chapter on an excellent ceremony and took the opportunity to remind all present of the importance of encouraging other master Masons in their respective Craft lodges to take the next step in joining a Royal Arch chapter.
