Alistair McIntyre was proclaimed WM of City of Lancaster lodge No 281 for the second year running in the presence of John Robbie Porter. John was accompanied by Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master Philip Gardner and grand officers Chris Butterfield; David Edwards; John Lee and Neil McGill.
Also present for the proclamation was Scott Devine, Chairman of the Lancaster and District Group, vice chairman Chris Larder and secretary Daniel Crossley along with Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies Steven Ellershaw and Provincial Grand Steward Stuart Bateson.
The lodge was opened by WM Alistair McIntyre and after all the general business had been completed, he was proclaimed as WM by director of ceremonies Adrian Wells. The working tools were competently recited by junior brethren in each degree. Kevin Isted from Vale Lodge No 5256 presented the working tools for the third degree, Jed Saunders presented for the second degree working tools and Pascal Ghunney presented the working tools for the first degree.
Alistair appointed Connor Isted as senior warden and Geoff Careless as junior warden. There was no address to the master. The address to the wardens was given by Jack Baxter and to the brethren of City of Lancaster lodge by John Robbie Porter.
John Robbie Porter was then presented with a list of donations that the lodge had made within the past year to Masonic and non-Masonic charities totalling £3,720. John thanked the brethren of the lodge on behalf of all the recipients for their very generous donations.
The organist for the evening was David Tattersall, but on this occasion, the Master’s Song wasn’t performed. A total of 42 brethren attended the festive board. The toast to the WM was given by Lee Fisher.
WM Alistair McIntyre is 30 years old and has been a Freemason for over 10 years. He joined City of Lancaster Lodge while attending Lancaster University and is also a member of Royal Arch, Mark and other Masonic Orders. He married wife Emily last year and is employed as a civil servant.
